1972 TELL DSM LCD QUARTZ

Here is an extremely rare Dynamic Scattering Mode (DSM) "TELL LCD QUARTZ ". A true museum timepiece in near mint condition. This scarce watch is one of the first digital watches with a liquid crystal display (LCD). Made by " SGT ". The watch has the first quartz movement with no moving parts. The watch is in working condition and comes with it's original beautiful two tone stainless steel signed bracelet fits 8" inches wrist (i've never seen similar bracelet before). Stainless steel oversize case with steel back, the back read: ” 2001 D-00, Solid-State, SGT, Garde-Temps SA, All Stainless Steel ”. Size: 47 x 38 mm excluding the crown.

- The Dynamic Scattering LCD watch is developed in 1972 by a group of six watch factories named 'Société des Garde-Temps S.A.' (SGT) of La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. The watch was presented for the first time to the public on March 6th 1972 at the Basle Fair. It was equipped with a quartz crystal by Motorola and an IC by SSS (Solid State Scientific). SGT sold about 15,000 pieces. Only produced for two years, they are rarer than most other vintage digital LED watches of the seventies. Digits were low contrast silver and only really visible when looking directly at the watch. Pulling and twisting the crown in either direction sets the watch but you must hold it as it advances just one minute at a time.
