The earliest rose engine lathe ever found 1600's
This rose engine is a unique piece of art, it is one of the oldest rose engines in history 1600's.
It is fully handmade of cast iron with a headstock, cross slide and tailstock.
The headstock is composed of twoo seperated slide heads and long shaft in order to add to the engine as much rosettes as you want. the original composed headstock shows many screws for additional accessories to be attached to the lathe.
The tailstock is original with screws for attachements.
The cross slide is original and moves back and forth by the lead screw.
The original slide compound moves smoothly by a crankshaft, it twists and has attached a cast iron tool post.
The lathe bed is original with two original fixed pillers.
The chuck is original cast iron handmade and fully functional.
N.B. This rose engine comes in the way that you see in the pictures. No table, flywheel, accessories and rosettes.
