Beautiful Baume & Mercier " Avant Garde " 5138.38 quartz watch. Circa 1980's. In those years it was a highly exclusive and valuable watch, made of 18 kt gold and "Tungsten" carbide (a rare hard metal, made under high pressure and temperature). Sold at the time as a men's watch, but given the case size (33 mm with crown) it is absolutely suitable to be worn by both men & women. The dial is black and the gold lines on the case are integrated into the dial.This is an Avant Garde from the first series with a high-grade calibre B&M / ETA quartz. Highly minimalist and rare. The watch is very flat (only 4.5 mm) and wears accordingly. The strap with the 18 kt gold lines goes from 18 mm to 16 mm at the beautiful Baume & Mercier click clasp. This strap is adjustable and suited for a wrist of up to 7.1/2" inches.

The watch is near mint condition (like new). Functions well and recently the battery was professionally replaced.
The watch comes in its original box, no papers.
